India's Competition Commission imposed a $25.6 million fine on Meta Platforms and ordered WhatsApp to stop sharing user data with other Meta companies for advertising for five years. The regulator ruled that WhatsApp's data-sharing policy was anti-competitive and gave users an unfair "take-it-or-leave-it" choice.
